In July 2007, we took a long needed vacation.

These are a few of the hundreds of pictures we took.

We headed up to Western Pennsylvania to the family cabin on the Allegheny, up between Tidioute and my home town, Warren.

There was a Crozier-Thompson Family Reunion in the area which accounted for the particular timing of the event.

The first real event of the trip began with a paddling trip.

We didn't realize how hard the trip up stream would be yet.

See that island up there? As it turns out, there are rapids on each side of each of several such islands.

Here, I was taking a bit of a rest behind this snag.

After three hours, we later determined that we paddled about 5 miles upstream. Now it is time to relax and head back to the cabin. Jean enjoys the relief.

As does Jim!

And back to the cabin.

As we leave, I get this one from the deck.

It was a family reunion, afterall. These are my aunts, Jean and Alice - the reigning royalty of the occasion.

While in Pennsylvania, we just had to take a picture of this barn on the way from Warren to Edinboro.

On the way to Vermont to visit our daughter, we went across the Southern Tier of New York State. Even though I had lived in North Western Pennsylvania for several years, I had never been there before.

We stopped by the Corning Museum of Glass. I had heard of this place all of my life. This is the first gallery one encounters.

One of the most fun items was the chess set - the Catholics vs the Jews.

We had heard an NPR report about the botany exibit at the Corning Museum. There was an entire exhibit of plants that had been created from glass for teaching purposes. The detail is truly amazing.

And my favorite part was playing with the big telescope mirror!

And when we get to Vermont...

From the Shelburn Shipyard (no ship been built there for 100 year or there abouts). The Adirondacks in the background.

Kim and her horse!

At the Shelburne Museum - waiting for a train :)

And at the Shelburne Farms, they call this a Barn!

Just a Couple of Kids.

So what kind of house is this?

And Jean in the garden.

This is the Green Mountains of Vermont as seen from Essex, NY.

I like this ferry boat.

On the way back from the ferry we see this covered bridge, still in real life service.

Looks like something higher than 8'3" tried to go through here?

These are the interns at the Shelburne Museum for the Summer 2007 (several of them are there for a couple years).

Clearly, Jean and I are only here for the birthday party :)

On the Fourth of July, I went wandering about.  From the Champlain Islands, this is a shot back to Vermont and the Green Mountains.

And my favorite stop was in Richmond to listen to the Community Band.

The next morning we picked up and headed back to Florida, made it back in two days - we were going to stay a while in Ashville, but it was all booked up.
