This is the list today: June 10, 2007

Jim Crozier wrote, arranged, and conducted all of the songs, and plays bass on everything. As the project stands, he still is singing lead on almost everything. Thankfully, most of his guitar playing has been replaced. Much of the singing will soon follow.

Steve Redmond plays drums on just about everything.

The Choir is: Kathi Giddings, Katie Crozier, Jim Crozier, TDGiddings.

Down in the Village - This old song. Came just as I arrived in Tallahassee in 1976. Pretty much the story for the previous few years. Rockin' it, with Jimi McKenzie on guitars, and Bill Landing on tenor sax.

BlackJack - This Washington Square Romp. Do you know where your children are? Ross Beck on Steel Drums, and the Choir.

Nola's Muse - Starts a Cajun Waltz, ends on Second Line. Who comes back to learn the song? Carrie Hamby on Accordion, David Langston on Fiddle, Frank Graham on Guitar, and the Choir. Then comes the Tallahassee Swing Band with "No Place To Go", some vocals and stuff added on ;-)

The Cat Song - Down the Blues. Who's the cat? Well JImi on the Guitar, and Bill Landing on Tenor and Beri Saxes. And now with Joey Karioth on piano.

Was It Love - S'posed to be country. Was it? We still working on this one. This is actually new today with Jimi McKenzie on Electric Guitar. (MIDI drums for now)

Ain't No Use - Rainy Day Blues. I totally made this up. Bill on the saxes, Jimi on the guitars. And now with Joey Karioth on piano.

What You Want - Kinda the Blues. Still got a lot of work to do here, but now with a new vocal and a new guitar track from TD Giddings. Horn section is: Michael McKenzie on Trumpet, Chris Tarquinio on Tenor Sax, Bill Landing on Beri Sax.

Old Fashion Way - OldFashion or Bluegrass? David Langston on Fiddle & Mandolin, Ross Beck on Banjo, Frank Graham on Guitar.

Body Shop Row - New Orleans Funk. Which body you talkin'bout? We got Michael McKenzie on Trumpet and Chris Tarquinio on Tenor Sax, with Jimi McKenzie on guitar, plus the Choir!  And now with Joey Karioth on piano.

Hymn to Opportunity - It's a Clasic R&B Ballad. What do you do when someone who loves you is gone? Still very much a work in progress, but now Kathi  sings lead, and I am singing backup. The synth is still standing in for the full horn section, and the real keyboard player. AND I will get a real guitar player somewhere along the way.

(bonus track) Nola Swings - Yeas really swings!.This is the Tallahassee Swing Band at the 16th Annual Jazz & Blues Festival as presented by the Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science.

Note: I have been studying the use of genre terms in contemporary music marketing, and nothing I do has anything to do with the way the term R&B is currently being used, but I am using the term Classic R&B to reference what we called R&B in the 60's.
